Show Notes

To get more things done, you need to get an early start to your day. The average cost for medical school is the US exceeds $60,000 per year. But thanks to a massive donation of one billion dollars ($1,000,000,000) to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine by philanthropist and educator Dr. Ruth Gottesman, who sits on the board, aspiring doctors accepted there to study medicine will attend tuition-free. The elimination of this future debt makes medical training more accessible for those with ability, but who may be short of the typical financial resources needed for this course of study; their tuition is already paid.

Former basketball star and larger than life TV commercial pitch-man, Shaquille O’neal is known for his philanthropy. His generous nature is always on display with contributions to individuals or families in need. He has literally donated shirts off his back and the shoes on his feet to help to fellow big-people who struggle to find the right size. The Navy TA-4J Skyhawk jet was a wonderful plane; but if you are too tall, you could lose your legs if you ever had to eject! Gluttony is a sin to avoid, sugar is bad for you, but drinking plenty of water is great for the body. The fastest growing girls sport is wrestling, with many young ladies hitting the mats and participating in amateur competitions. Commander Drew had a crush on one professional wrestler named Miss Jones, who was part of the duo known as The Cat & Miss Jones.

Meet the wingman to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Philip Ozuah. This distinguished medical professional originally trained in Nigeria and upon graduation from the same college of medicine, provided much needed services to people in the Bronx, the poorest borough in New York City. In addition to his numerous accomplishments and responsibilities, he was an integral part of the large donation for student tuition from Ruth Gottesman. After the passing of her husband she was left with a large fortune from her late spouse who was a financial titan on Wall Street. The only request he had was that it be used to “do what’s best”. It was the relationship between these Dr. Ozuah and Dr. Gottesman during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic that helped make the billion dollar gift to the school a reality.
